Getting Bigger Every Day
Ironically, pregnancy is the one time I have no body issues.

Here I am less than an hour before Quin was born. Clearly, I had an easy labor!
Oops! I'm losing weight again - though you couldn't tell by the
size of my belly! (Thanks for the great sweater set, Kelly!)
Dr. Chadwick sent me in for a sonogram because she thought Quin
might be breech. The good news: he's not breech. The
bad news: he is measuring big. That probably means he'll
come a little before his March 3 due date.

Okay, by month seven I am finally moving in the right direction.
The doc told me that if I gain one more pound I will weigh what I
weighed when I got pregnant. Weird, huh? Especially since
my belly is big enough to make strangers inquire if I am having twins!
Quin's heartbeat was in the 140's.

I guess I got a little distracted from the mission in month six.
This is the only picture I could find of myself and I seem to be
hiding strategically behind a napkin! At the six month visit, I
finally started gaining weight. Whew! Quin's heartbeat was
in the 150's.

An interesting development in the fifth month: I now weigh less than I
did when I got pregnant. Sure - the one time in my life I lose
weight without trying is when I'm pregnant! The doctor said not
to worry, the baby is growing just fine. My belly had grown 2 cm
since my last visit. Quin's heartbeat was in the 140's.

At four months, there was a lot of tummy for not a lot of baby.
The heartbeat was loud and clear at the doctor's office: in
the 150's.
A friend of mine said, "That's going to be a big baby. Are you sure there is only one in there?" Sigh.

These somewhat hideous action shots illustrate my ever-increasing girth at three months. After CVS,
we found out that the baby was genetically healthy and a boy. The heartbeat was in the 140's.

Wow, at two months, it was the great disappearing waist. The baby
was too small to hear a heartbeat at the doctor's office,
but at the first sonogram we heard it loud and clear. It was hummingbird fast in the 160's.

At one month pregnant, I still look pretty much like normal (which is to say several months pregnant!)
